I definitely recommend measuring base
circles particularly if the lift is over about 0.550" but also to a lesser
extent if the cam specs are 218 duration or over and if the LSA is tighter
or the cam is advanced or retarded. The more the cam varies from the core
the smaller the base circle will have to be.
After researching this, our cam grinder is going to start giving me base
circle diameters for each cam to make it easier to pick pushrods.
I have the aftermarket pushrods available in the 0.025" increments for $65
for 8 if you just have to do an intake or exhaust of for $125 for 16 or
both. They are one piece, 0.080" diameter heat treated so they are plenty
strong. |
